In February 2017, on the day following Charlie's stag night, Dylan is surprised to find Glen. The next day, Dylan tells Glen that Robyn is pregnant with his child. Having previously resigned him to his fate, Glen now wants the opportunity to hold his child before he dies.
With the baby due in May, Glen asks Dylan to find someone to operate on him. In his search for a specialist, Dylan contacts his old tutor and renowned surgeon Zsa Zsa Harper-Jenkinson. However, Glen loses hope due to the long waiting list for the procedure and its high cost. Afterwards, Glen is hospitalised after experiencing a violent seizure.
Zsa Zsa decides to operate on Glen and travels to the UK. She offers to perform a procedure that she is confident will allow him to be there for his child's birth, but she warns him that it has a 50% chance of causing severe brain damage. After a coin toss, Glen decides to go ahead with the operation.
In March, Dylan calls Glen to inform him that Robyn has given birth to a baby girl prematurely. Dylan takes him to the neonatal ward to visit his daughter Charlotte in secret.
In April, Glen undergoes the operation. As Dylan asks him questions to monitor his speech and memory functions. However, mid-procedure, Zsa Zsa notices a bleed and Glen experiences a seizure. He later falls into a coma. In June, Glen wakes up from his coma but has no vocal capacity and diminished physical movement on his entire right-hand side. Zsa Zsa bids Dylan farewell and returns to the US.
Glen begins to attend speech therapy and gradually relearns how to talk. However, after injuring his knee during physiotherapy, he decides to give up, but Dylan convinces him to keep going for his daughter's sake.
It's the day of Charlotte's christening, and Robyn is taken aback when she find Glen in the staff room. Glen tries to explain himself, but Robyn refuses to hear him out and becomes enraged at the fact that he has only returned to see Charlotte and not her. After watching a video message from Glen that he recorded months prior, she allows him to come to Charlotte's christening, much to his delight.
