Synopsis

Connie returns to the emergency department and immediately takes control of resus. Later, she pitches the idea for a trauma theatre in the department to Charlie, who sees it as a vanity project. The following morning, he criticises her for using Cal's death as a means of promoting her project.

Meanwhile, it's the anniversary of Cal's death, and Ethan visits the site of his murder to pay his respects. He bumps into Leigh-Anne and takes her back to her flat to help set up Kiegan's breathing apparatus. However, once he leaves, Leigh-Anne struggles to cope with Kiegan's constant crying and, out of desperation, she leaves him in the back of an ambulance. When Kiegan is found and taken in, Ethan tries to convince Connie not to get social services involved.

Ethan soon finds an anaemic Leigh-Anne outside and takes her in. He later tells her that Kiegan has been placed into temporary foster care. On his way home, Ethan takes offence when Connie suggests that the trauma theatre she is pitching could have saved his brother. The following morning, Ethan vouches for Leigh-Anne during a meeting with social services, and Kiegan is returned to her. Back at her flat, Ethan and Leigh-Anne share a kiss.

Back at the ED, Alicia reveals that she has bought a new house and invites her colleagues to a housewarming party. Rash and Gem agree to have lunch together, but Connie forces him to do some work for her instead. He asks Gem if he can make it up to her by taking her to the party, but she tells him not to come.
