Holby Wiki - Casualty and Holby City

Aliya Ghali is a woman who resides in Holby.

Biography[]

On 27 July 2019, a fire broke out in the warehouse Aliya worked in, resulting in her and many of her colleagues receiving burns. She was rescued from the fire by firefighters, and she demanded to know where her former personal assistant Josh was. After she arrived at Holby City Hospital's emergency department, her husband Sunny rushed to her bedside. She asked him to contact all of the victims' next of kin, but she was surprised to hear that, despite the two's impending divorce, he was more concerned about her wellbeing.

After speaking to the fire warden, Sunny informed Aliya that everybody was safe and accounted for, and he asked her if she wanted to postpone her meeting with her solicitor. They both expressed their disappointment with the state of their relationship, and she began to reconcile. However, Aliya was soon horrified to discover that Josh had been taken into resus with full-thickness burns to his torso. Later, in cubicles, she was devastated to learn that he had died. Sunny suggested reviewing his HR records on her phone to call Josh's parents, but she urged him to go outside for some fresh air. Consultant Connie Beauchamp gave Aliya her phone, and she began deleting a text conversation between her and Josh, but her condition began to deteriorate, and she dropped her phone.

Once she was stabilised, and her pulmonary oedema began to improve, Connie informed Aliya that Sunny was keen to see her, but Aliya apprised her of her infidelity and claimed that she did not want him to worry. Regardless, she admitted to him that she had cheated on him with Josh and blamed it on them being distant. Heartbroken, Sunny told her that, although he would help her in her recovery, that would be "enough". (CAS: Episode 1138)
